Lord, the pleasure of this world

Darkened my mind, and I am dumb and blind

I lost my strength searching the joy in false things

Would you show your light and truth?

Lord, the attractions of this world

Captures my mind everyday;

I get lured by the false beauty I see around

Lord would you show me the beauty of your holiness?

Lord, I can see idolizing self all around,

And I get myself involved with this trend;

Lord I know I should offer myself as a living sacrifice,

Lord would you teach me how to?

Lord, the world complicates the things

That you created so plain and simple

The worldly philosophies and theories confuses me

Would you give me the wisdom to discern right from the wrongs?

Lord, I know I can have no peace

With the things that I can acquire here

I know the peace flows from you

Would you connect me with you?

Lord, I know nothing good lives in me

I am carnal; nothing I do can get me salvation

Would you still accept me with my sinfulness…

And clean me with your blood?

Now Oh Lord, I am convinced…

That you are able to save me and lead me home

Would you train me with your love?

To depend on you and give you everything I have?
